Tussie Spectacles is a small retail venue that has to be designed withing one of the rooms of an old heritage cataloged house in Polanco, Mexico City. As this house is a landmark, the exterior of the building and facades cannot be altered.
Project had limited means for design development and material use, so the idea had to be simple yet with a strong concept.
As this retail specialize in the spectacle business, we thought on the experience on purchasing a pair and the necessity behind it. The interior architecture of the room remain untouched, only the flooring was replaced. All the walls and streetfront window were hidden behind a translucent curtain evoking a sense of spatial blurriness and confusion of what’s behind it. The user then can find the merchandise in the middle of the room and appearing in front the translucent Wall. The only objects that appear tangible besides the furniture.
