Casa Sierra Fría is a single-family house located in a residential neighborhood in Mexico City. As the majority of the sites in this neighborhoods are regular with constructions on 3 of their 4 sides, the architectural concept began to explore the idea of the site as a contained void with an structural open grid that draws on top of it having different program on each quadrant and a relationship to the surrounding patio.
This structural grid is intersected in the middle by the staircase and service units, freeing the surrounding spaces to the open. On top of this light wall-based structure a solid box containing the private program of the house with controlled apertures to the view.
