The project is the adaptation and restoration of a house built at the beginning of the nineteen-century transforming it into a gallery space.
The basic concept for the intervention was exactly the opposite, not to intervene but to recover and synthesize the space, letting the art pieces were the ones that transform it. The restoration included everything that was damaged returning it to its original state. We applied a patina of white in the interior and exterior unifying the spaces and endowing them with lightness.
The new elements required; a terrace for exhibiting in the exterior, as well as new circulations, were treated very in a modern and minimal way so that it’s clear what’s new from what’s original.
In some of the cases where the intervention had to take place in an existing element, it was extremely subtle and light, so the space that changed its function remained intact, letting the furniture be the subjects that transformed the space.
