Casa Avándaro is a weekend home located near Valle de Bravo in the state of Mexico. The region is mostly forest and cool weather most parts of the year, so it was very important where to place and the orientation of the pavilion like geometry.
Being surrounded by forest views, the concept of the house was to locate all the required program in a single storey house, opening to both of it’s long facades and one more void ibn the z- axis to the sky.
The arrangement is very simple, in the most enclosed half of the house all the bedrooms and services are located, and all the public and most open spaces on the other half. The pool and terrace is “extracted” from the main volume, making it the only independent element of the house.
